Governance

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Sacramento and Northeastern California’s Board of Directors represents our diverse area and helps chart the Foundation’s course. They contribute a vast array of experience and skills that helps maintain our status as the nation’s largest wish-granting organization. Board meetings are held every month.

As a whole, the board determines the Foundation’s mission and vision. It selects, evaluates and supports the president and chief executive officer. The board also protects the Foundation’s assets, enhances its public standing, ensures accountability, maintains legal integrity and assesses its own performance.

In addition, there are ad-hoc task teams and Board Committees organized around specific areas of the Foundation operations. There are currently Regional Advisory Boards or Steering Committees in Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties and the Redding area. These groups represent the chapter in their cities and surrounding counties.
