The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Sacramento & Northeastern California is currently recruiting Wish Volunteers. The Wish Volunteers work directly with the wish child and family. They help the child to determine a wish and then celebrate with them when the wish is granted. A training class is required to become a Wish Volunteer.

Everyone who is age 21 and over is welcome. Those with bi-lingual skills are always needed (especially Spanish, Russian and Hmong).

Our next trainings are scheduled at the following locations:

Sacramento –
Saturday, March 31, 2012
10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Wishing Place
2800 Club Center Drive
Sacramento, CA 95835

Redding –
Saturday, May 5, 2012
11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Redding Library Community Room
110 Parkview Avenue
Redding, CA 96001

You only need to attend one training session. Click here for directions.

Two things are required before you can attend:

  1. You must complete an orientation. If you have already attended one in our office or online and have sent in the paperwork, that counts. If you haven’t done so, you can go online at www.sacnortheast.wish.org. Go to “Ways to Help” and then to “Volunteer Time & Talents”. Scroll down to “Online Orientation Powerpoint”. Follow the instructions and either send in your paperwork in advance or bring it with you to the training.
  2. RSVP to us at (888) 828-9474 ext. 223 or via email at tsoto@sacnortheast.wish.org. Space is limited in all sessions, so please RSVP as soon as possible.
