Celebrate Wishes around the Globe on World Wish Day®
Matthew from Galt Celebrates World Wish Day by Meeting Miley Cyrus!
The Make-A-Wish Foundation inspired people around the world during its global celebration of wish granting on World Wish Day, on April 29, 2011.
On World Wish Day, the Foundation will publicly granted the fondest wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions in 36 countries it serves.

Wish Kid Matthew from Galt, CA and 13 other wish kids across the nation were greeted by Cyrus at the studio where she is preparing for her upcoming Gypsy Heart concert tour, which opens on World Wish Day, April 29, in Quito, Ecuador. Matthew’s wish experience included a chance to visit with Cyrus, plus being treated to an exclusive performance by the platinum-selling artist during a dress rehearsal for the tour.
Locally, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Sacramento and Northeastern California celebrated World Wish Day by fulfilling Peter’s (a 4-year-old from Sacramento) wish to have a Toy’s R Us Shopping Spree.
World Wish Day honors the day that sparked a global wish-granting movement and has enabled more than 250,000 children around the world to have their wishes granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It celebrates the diversity of children’s wishes and encourages everyone to learn how they can support wish-granting efforts in their communities.
Here’s some ways YOU can participate in World Wish Day:
On April 29, Disney Store (www.disneystore.com) will donate 5% of sales online and at stores to the Foundation, up to $50K.
